GETTING HERE

Road The quickest way down to Cornwall is to take the M5 motorway to Exeter. Here it merges with the A38 Devon Expressway to Plymouth. Bypass Plymouth and continue on the A38 towards Liskeard, across the Tamar Bridge (no toll needed travelling into Cornwall but it’s £1.50 to leave!) and you’re in Cornwall. Drive through the Saltash Tunnel, up a long hill to the Carkeel Roundabout and take the second exit (straight across). Continue to follow signs for Liskeard – driving through the villages of Landrake & Tideford. Up a hill and under a railway bridge to the Trerulefoot Roundabout where you take the third exit to Liskeard. Continue for approximately 3 miles passing Castle Motors on your left. As you start climbing a hill, move to right-hand lane and take right turning for Menheniot. You will see the Hayloft Restaurant in front of you as you turn off the dual carriageway. Drive just past the restaurant entrance and take the immediate next right turn into the Hayloft Courtyard Cottages. Rail The main London Paddington to Penzance service stops at Liskeard station from where you can take a short taxi ride (about 3 miles) to The Hayloft Courtyard Cottages at Menheniot. You might get lucky with your connections and be able to catch one of the infrequent trains to Menheniot Station, but don’t bank on it!

To book and check prices: www.thetrainline.co.uk Coach National Express operates regular services to Liskeard from many departure points all over the UK, including most major airports. There are reliable taxi services adjacent to the main bus stop. Just ask for the Hayloft Cottages, Menheniot.

Check coach services and prices: www.nationalexpress.com Ferry Brittany Ferries operate regular sailings to Plymouth from Roscoff, France and Santander, Spain. It’s then only 18 miles by road or a short train journey to Liskeard, from where you can catch a taxi. Just ask for the Hayloft Cottages, Menheniot.

Ryanair operate daily flights from London Stansted to Newquay with cheap fares. Our closest airport is Plymouth (30 min). AirSouthwest operate many regular flights from Plymouth including a daily service to London Gatwick. Car hire and taxi services are available from the airport. There are many more services available from Exeter & Bristol Airports.
